Formula or decision logic

Storage capacity is not floor area alone. A usable arrangement requires object footprints plus access aisles and door movement. Site fit requires the entire roof, eaves, steps, and foundation to remain within verified allowable zones, not just the wall footprint.

Worked planning example

An 8 by 10 ft shed has 80 sq ft gross area. Two 24-inch-deep storage walls consume 40 sq ft if they run the full 10-foot length, leaving a 4-foot central band before equipment is added. A 36-inch mower plus turning and ramp space may drive the door and aisle design more than total area.
